While you’re there: distiller’s recommendation
Gen highly recommends heading down to the newly-renovated and ever impressive Hotel Sorrento. Not only is it a great venue in their own right, but they also feature an irresistible Penni Ave Wattleseed & Burnt Honey Martini. For the coast lovers, head down to 16th Beach for a truly beautiful landscape, one so incredible that it inspired Penni Ave’s 16th Beach Vodka boasting notes of Sea Celery and Salt Bush.

JimmyRum is centered in the heart of the Dromana Maker’s Habitat. Make the most of your day here by visiting Bass & Flinders distillery literally down the road, or explore the plethora of “soul traders” such as Boatshed Cheese, cool-climate local wine makers Rhino Tiger Bear, Little Rebel Coffee Roastery, Red Hill Candlemakers and more. There’s something here for everyone, all within walking distance.

40 Collins Road, Dromana
Located within the Dromana Maker’s Habitat.

Experiences
Gin masterclass, gin high tea, bottomless brunch, bar and cellardoor.
Overview
Bass & Flinders operate on the ethos of “from grape to glass”, making stunning gins from their own spirit base distilled from local grapes all the way through to prize winning brandies and cognacs. Distiller and Managing Director Holly Klintworth undertook a 6-week internship in Cognac, France, learning brandy and eau-de-vie production from generational master distillers in the Charente region. This priceless point of view, combined with their stunningly impressive important cognac still, means Bass & Flinders offer an experience found nowhere else world-wide.
Great for
Families, couples, groups of friends, special occasions, events, functions and sitting on the up-stairs rooftop balcony, sipping on a G&T and watching kangaroos bounce by.

Original & Gin Graduates
Start out with Bass & Flinders Original Gin Masterclass where over two hours you get hands on and craft your very own gin recipe (including a 500ml bottle to take home) — and this is where it gets interesting. Your recipe will be stored on site so that you can re-order your unique creation anytime.
If you’ve done that but you’re thinking to yourself, you want to give it a little more oomph? Come back for the truly unique Gin Graduates class. Starting with your original recipe, you now get to bring it new life exploring the addition of elevated botanicals such as yuzu, cubeb pepper or pink grapefruit, or natural colour for a purple or pink hue. You then perfect how to drink it, going through premium tonic pairings until its perfect match is found.
Both masterclasses include the 500ml bottle to take home, recipe storage for re-order and of course a delightful cheese platter to fuel your creative thinking. Find out more and book here.
